Your journey begins in Nairobi, where you explore Kenya’s rich history, heritage and contemporary culture before travelling to Amboseli National Park, famous for its spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro and large elephant herds. Alongside game drives, you will have the opportunity to experience local Maasai culture and learn about traditional ways of life and the relationship between communities and wildlife.

The adventure continues through the Great Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha, where you can enjoy the peaceful scenery and a boat excursion among hippos and abundant birdlife. From Naivasha, travel onwards to the legendary Maasai Mara, one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife destinations. Several game drives provide opportunities to encounter lions, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, cheetahs and other iconic wildlife across the open savannah.

The final days combine further wildlife exploration with cultural interaction and time to relax and appreciate the natural beauty of the Mara. The journey concludes with a final morning safari before returning to Nairobi.

Day 1

Arrival in Nairobi

Arrive in Nairobi, Kenya’s vibrant capital city, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, enjoy a relaxed evening at leisure, giving you time to rest after your journey and settle into the Kenyan atmosphere. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy a traditional Kenyan dinner at the hotel or a nearby restaurant.

Day 2

Nairobi Cultural Experience

Begin your Kenyan experience with a day dedicated to the country’s history, culture and heritage. Visit the Nairobi National Museum to learn about Kenya’s diverse communities, history, art and natural heritage. Continue to Karen, where you can explore the former home and gardens of Karen Blixen and experience a quieter side of Nairobi. The day can end with a taste of traditional Kenyan cuisine and an opportunity to explore local crafts.

Day 3

Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

After breakfast, depart Nairobi and travel south towards Amboseli National Park, enjoying changing landscapes and views of rural Kenya along the way. After settling into your lodge or camp, head out for your first afternoon game drive. Amboseli is famous for its large elephant herds and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, creating an unforgettable introduction to Kenya’s wildlife.

Day 4

Amboseli Safari & Maasai Culture

Start the day with an early morning game drive when wildlife is most active and the morning light provides excellent opportunities for photography. Return for breakfast before enjoying some relaxed time at the lodge. Later, experience the cultural side of the region through a respectful community visit, learning about Maasai traditions, livelihoods, crafts and relationship with the surrounding environment. An afternoon game drive provides another opportunity to encounter elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions and other wildlife.

Day 5

Amboseli to Lake Naivasha

Leave Amboseli after breakfast and travel towards the Great Rift Valley, one of Kenya’s most impressive landscapes. Along the way, enjoy scenic viewpoints and observe the changing countryside. Continue to Lake Naivasha, a beautiful freshwater lake surrounded by acacia trees and wildlife. In the afternoon, take a boat excursion on the lake, where you can observe hippos and numerous bird species while enjoying a peaceful break from the safari routine.

Day 6

Naivasha to Maasai Mara

After breakfast, depart Naivasha and continue towards the famous Maasai Mara National Reserve. The journey takes you through rural communities, farmland and the rolling landscapes of the Great Rift Valley. After arriving and checking into your accommodation, head out for an afternoon game drive. As the sun begins to set over the savannah, enjoy your first taste of the Mara’s exceptional wildlife.

Day 7

Full-Day Maasai Mara Safari

Today is dedicated entirely to exploring the Maasai Mara. Set out early for a full-day game drive across the open grasslands, searching for lions, elephants, buffalo, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes and other wildlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch in a designated area before continuing your exploration of the reserve. The afternoon brings further opportunities for wildlife viewing before returning to your lodge as the sun sets over the Mara.

Day 8

Maasai Mara Safari & Community Experience

Begin with another early morning game drive, taking advantage of the cooler temperatures and active wildlife. Return to the lodge for breakfast and some time to relax before experiencing another side of the Mara through a community or cultural visit. Learn about local traditions, traditional homes, crafts, livelihoods and the important relationship between communities and wildlife conservation. Spend the remainder of the afternoon relaxing at your lodge or enjoying a final game drive.

Day 9

Final Safari & Return to Nairobi

Enjoy a final morning game drive through the Maasai Mara, giving you one last opportunity to see wildlife in the beautiful morning light. After breakfast, begin your journey back to Nairobi, taking in the changing landscapes along the way. Depending on your departure schedule, you may have time for a final meal or shopping for Kenyan crafts before being transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
